Our Approach
At Kinderling respect for all children is the foundation of our practice. How people are treated as children impacts how they see themselves and others throughout their lives. We are dedicated to providing a kind and nurturing environment to all children at our setting where we are present and conscious to their needs and include them in their care.
Play is a vital part of childhood and we focus on creating an environment that allows children to have the freedom to fall into joyful uninterrupted play. Our approach offers the opportunity and time that allows for children to immerse themselves in the world around them, trusting they are innately competent to discover and master the skills they need in their own time.
Our small numbers mean that every child feels a strong sense of belonging in the group.
Bobby Federici: An Early Years Teacher with a Vision
Hi! I'm Bobby, a qualified Early Years Teacher with over 10 years of leadership in Nursery Schools in and around St Albans. I am the registered childminder here at Kinderling.
Early Years care has been part of my life since I was a young child. I grew up above my parent's nursery school, Mount Carmel Kindergarten in St Albans, and joined the family business in 2014. Since then I have supported hundreds of children and their families, as well as training staff in best practice.
Respect is the foundation of my Early Years practice. I recognise the importance of trusting that children are capable learners, and aim to balance the need of supporting them whilst allowing them to learn through their experiences. Above all I want childhood to be fun and free.
As a Father of 3 children, I have a personal understanding of the pressure that parents are under. I love supporting people on their parenting journey by empowering them with the knowledge, confidence and skills to succeed at home.
Olivia Federici: From Olympic Glory to Child Advocacy
I'm Olivia Federici, a former athlete who represented Great Britain in Synchronised Swimming, participating in three Olympic Games.
Following my retirement from competitive sport, I chose a new path dedicated to supporting children and their families. I've worked as a Teaching Assistant, Childminder Assistant, Nanny, and coach within my sport, which has provided me with a unique perspective on the needs of children at different stages of their development and in different settings.
The influence and care of our community, carers and role models help create the space for children to be and express themselves freely and this is a beautiful thing to witness. Children need time to play and I want to facilitate the resources, environment, and support they need to make it the most magical and joyful experience.
