Parent Guide
When your child isn't happy at nursery, it affects the whole family.
The tears at drop-off.
The meltdowns when you're trying to get them into the car.
The distress when they realise you're driving towards nursery.
The worry about how they're getting on once you've left.
Arriving to collect them and immediately seeing that they've been visibly distressed.
The guilt of leaving them upset — and the feeling that you don't know what else to do.
You tell yourself they just need more time.
“They'll settle eventually.”
But weeks pass. Sometimes months.
And the worry doesn't go away.
You start asking yourself:
“Is this really the right environment for my child?”
Some left after just a couple of weeks. Others stayed for several months before their parents decided that continuing to wait wasn't right for their child.
For some children, the answer isn't simply more time.
Sometimes, they need a different environment.
Jessica (parent of a 2 year old girl)
When Jessica and her family first came to Kindërling, their daughter had already spent several months at another local nursery.
She had never really settled. After three months, every drop-off and pick-up was still filled with tears and anxiety, and her parents had started to worry that perhaps nursery simply wasn't right for her.
They made the difficult decision to take her out.
Then they found Kindërling.
Jessica (Kindërling parent)

Jessica told us that her child's favourite days of the week are now her days at Kindërling — and that seeing her so happy and thriving has brought the family “so much joy and peace of mind.”
She went on to describe how her vocabulary has developed, how she is learning new skills every day, and how comfortable and happy the children appear in the setting.
We combine the experience and structure of nursery childcare with the warmth, familiarity and close relationships of a home-based setting.
Our smaller, nurturing environment gives children the opportunity to build strong relationships with the adults caring for them, become familiar with their surroundings and develop confidence at their own pace.
Children aren't one of many. Our small group allows us to get to know each child as an individual and respond to their needs, interests and personality.

Children need to feel safe and secure with the adults caring for them. We take the time to build close, trusting relationships so every child feels known, understood and comfortable in our care.

Kindërling is designed to feel calm and welcoming rather than busy and overwhelming. Ofsted recognised our calm, respectful and harmonious environment as a strength.

Our garden, allotment and daily adventures give children space to explore, move and learn. For some children, having the freedom to spend so much of their day outdoors can make a real difference.
Children spend their days in a familiar environment with a small team of adults who know them well. Over time, this familiarity can help children develop confidence and a sense of belonging.

When you're considering moving your child to a new setting, you want reassurance that they'll be safe, cared for and supported to thrive.
During our Ofsted inspection, behaviour, attitudes and establishing routines were identified as areas where Kindërling demonstrates a strong standard.
Ofsted described our environment as calm, respectful and harmonious, and highlighted the strength of the relationships between adults and children, built on kindness, trust and respect.
Inspectors also observed children becoming increasingly independent, curious and confident, exploring their surroundings and engaging happily in their routines and activities.
These are things we care deeply about every day.
If you've been worrying about your child's experience at nursery, come and see Kindërling for yourself.
Meet the team, explore our nursery cabin and garden, and tell us a little about your child and what you've been experiencing.
There's no pressure to decide. A visit is simply a chance to see whether Kindërling feels like the right environment for your child.
If you're not sure what to do next, I'm always happy to have a chat and offer some advice.
